The macrocosmos comprises of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. These are the elements that are present all over. The body has all of these elements.
Agni (Fire) – Without the heat in the body one cannot digest food, the most important Tatwa – ‘Agni’ tatwa is essential to even maintain our body temperature.
Bhoo (Earth) – The bones, nerves, muscles, nails, hair is all earthy in nature. This gives the structure to our body. ‘Bhoo’ tatwa is essential for grounding ourselves.
Vayu (Air) – The gases in our intestines are airy in nature and they are responsible for our movement. Any instability in the volume gives rise to mobility issues.
Jala (Water) – All the mucous, blood, tears is watery in nature. This maintains the body temperature and is responsible for absorbing the nutrients. Water becomes the channel for supplying and nourishing the body with the relevant nutrients and also excreting what is not required.
The body which is the microcosmos is no different from the macro cosmos.
Coming to the mind, the mind does not find a place in a human body. It does not have any structure. However, it has the same characteristics just like the body.
The mind reflects fairy tendency during a state of anger, mind reflects earthly when one displays stability, mind is airy when one is creative and mind is watery when one is emotional. So mind is matter and is the only matter in a human body which drives all decisions and actions. The mind dominates all the matter in the body. If the mind is not in balance the body goes out of balance. Such is the power of this invisible and formless mind.
When a body is affected and does not function it can be easily diagnosed and perhaps fixed by either administering medicine or surgery. However, no surgery can be performed when the mind is imbalanced. Any anti-depressant given can only have its own side effects and does not fix the root cause of the problem. The body and mind matters!
