Totally happy with the key to your new house? Now it only starts ... The interior! Where do you place the sofa and dining table and which accessories do you choose to home decore? And then you also need lamps! Home stylist Christiaan Fraza helps you with a 6-step plan. Step 1: Consider which spaces will be used for what Step 2: Make a light plan A light plan does not have to be complicated. Because you know which room will be used for what, you also know what the important places are per room. You place lamps on those points, but also in the dark places in your house. Then make yourself comfortable by using dimmers throughout the house. This brings you to taste atmosphere in the house. Step 3: Sketch a map Step 4: Identify your style / wishes Many people don't quite know what their style is. So make sure you map what you like. We call this a style or mood board. Trim magazines, newspapers and brochures and stick all useful cutouts on the board. Use this board as a guide for the style of your house. Are you unable to get out of this style board, or are there too many different things on it? A stylist can pick your style from the style board for you. Step 5: Start with the basics You have an overview of what your rooms will look like. So now comes the fun part, the actual furnishing of the rooms. Start with the basics! The floors, the walls and frames. My tip? All walls and frames are white. This radiates peace and space and is timeless. Is that white wall going to bore? Then you can always throw another color over it. The following applies to the floor: lay the same floor throughout the house. Just like the white wall, this gives a feeling of extra space. And it saves you in sorting out. Step 6: Shopping! There is a style board, a drawing of the house and the basis of the decor has been laid. Choose one or more colors from the style board and use that as a common thread during shopping. If you take the style plate with you, you can also advise staff in a furniture store about furniture that fits that style. You do not have to buy all the items in one go. First make sure that the basic furniture and objects are present. Then you can supplement the rest later, when there may be more budget. Then you immediately have more time to look for those perfect things that suit your style.
