Many people like to drink a glass of wine, beer, or other alcoholic beverages, but they are not alcoholics. They can control themselves. They can stop after one or two glasses and usually drink on special occasions such as celebrations, weddings, etc. But when a person drinks so much that drinking changes his behavior and makes it become unpredictable, bad or embarrassing, that's the problem. Here at bayridge counselling centrewe want you to notice when there is a problem. Many children live with a parent or guardian who has an alcohol problem. Alcoholism has been here for hundreds of years, but no one has ever found a way to prevent it or eradicate it. Alcohol affects people's health and how people behave. People under the influence of alcohol are more aggressive or have frequent mood swings. They behave in a way that is unpleasant to themselves or to their surroundings. Alcoholism is a disease. Like any other illness, it needs to be cured. Without professional help, a person with alcoholism will almost certainly continue to drink and the disease will worsen over time. Addiction diseases such as alcoholism are no one's fault. Some people prefer alcohol to others. It is related to genetics, as well as to family history and life events. Sometimes something that starts out as a bad habit can become a big problem. For example, people can start drinking to cope with difficulties such as stress, lack of money or simply starting to drink from boredom. The reason may be the illness of one family member or the disagreement of the parent in marriage. No matter what others say, people do not drink for someone else. In any case, if you live with someone who has a problem with alcohol, do not blame yourself on his or her drinking! Problematic drinking changes the way the family functions. The parent who drinks has a problem keeping the job and the problem of paying bills. Older children have to take care of the younger ones more than they should. Some alcoholic parents abuse children psychologically and / or physically. Others ignore their children by not providing enough care or support. Alcoholics parents are increasingly using other substances (e.g. marijuana, tablets). Despite everything that is happening, most alcoholics children love their parents and worries that something bad does not happen to them. Children living with an alcoholic parent often do their best to stop their parents from drinking. However, as a child is not the cause of his parents' alcoholism, he cannot even cure it. This responsibility must be taken over by an alcoholic and sought professional help. You also be connect on Twitter , Facebook and Linkedin
