Top Technology trends which we are not sure about |

Despite huge potential, several technologies fail to create their success stories. Our experts have come up with the top techs that they are unsure about. Throughout the years, we have come across numerous technologies that have been overhyped and out of proportion which led to their ultimate demise. If you play online scratch cards and other casino games, you might have come across several VR casino games. How many times have you played a VR game instead of an online casino game? Not much, we assume. Similarly, in 2019, you will find a couple of technologies that you are not sure about. Let us find out. ChatbotsIf you use Facebook messenger, then you use this technology almost on a daily basis. But frankly speaking, how many of you rely on this technology for your day to day business? Chatbots are only useful in search engine interfaces. Besides that, several companies have automated their product delivery process through chatbots. Although this technology works properly on several occasions, still consumers are sceptical whether or not the technology is reliable or not. Consumers still prefer going to a website or app to avail a service instead of relying on the voice chatbots to deliver a service. The coming years will test the viability of this technology. Virtual realityFor some years now, Virtual Reality has promised to change how the gaming industry operates. The initial reaction of the consumers was exciting but soon after they have bought it, most of them accepted that they don't use it as much as they have perceived. Still, a number of companies are still adamant on pursuing this technology due to the massive potential that it harbours. The main drawbacks of this technology have been some common challenges that this technology has to address like increased usage leading to nausea, dizziness and in some cases, vomiting. Moreover, you won't find a lot of popular titles here except Batman: Arkham VR and Doom which received a lot of positive reviews. Still, many players do not like the small gameplay of the VR games which typically range up to a total of 1-hour average. Compared to this, most of the AAA PC games have 4-5 hours average gameplay. Players need a strong reason to switch to VR technology. Gamers only want a good game. Nothing else. Despite this, many consumers are looking forward to VR which promised to provide better viewing of basketball matches and concerts right from the comfort of their homes. Only time will tell what this technology evolves into. SmartwatchesThe Apple Watch did not take over the world as Apple claimed it would. Despite Apple CEO Tim Cook’s claims that "Apple Watch is the most personal device we've ever created”, it is clear that the company failed to make a dent in the technological landscape unlike the game-changing successes of iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Although it is beautifully designed and packed with the latest technologies, even hardcore Apple fans will accept that the watch cannot do much besides what a smartphone can do. Can you name a smartwatch besides Apple Watch in 2019? Chances are that you will come up with Gear S3 Frontier, Galaxy Watch Active and Huawei Watch 2. Despite the lack of competition in the market, the technology has confused consumers about how much it can deliver practically in real life. In such cutthroat competition, it is hard for any one brand to stand out from the rest and deliver something unique. It is hard to bet Apple in the smartwatch segment although Samsung is catching up with its own brands. What happens to this segment in the coming years remains to be seen.
