What Would It Look Like If These Companies Had Their Own Soccer Team? |

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, both in terms of participation and in viewing. So, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if, one day, six of the biggest business companies in the world would try to cash in on its worldwide popularity. Imagine if Microsoft, Apple, Netflix, Facebook, Google, and Snapchat had their own soccer franchises. Would the sport still be the same or would it be quite different? The Soccer.com web site drew gave some thought to the matter and even came up with uniforms for the six would-be soccer teams if they were owned by each business. The images can be found here. Some of the designs are intriguing and they are all-color schemes which is actually better than some of the contrasting color ones with some of the Premier League squads. The Facebook one almost looks is it wants to mesmerize opponents. Of course, it is still only one uniform for each team and usually teams have two different outfits, one for home games and the other for away games. While the uniforms were one thing, the article also tried to imagine what each team would do in constructing a team into their own company image. That may be a stretch because of how sports are constructed in these modern times. The bottom line is about winning as many titles as a squad can and these six companies certainly are about winning against the competition. It is likely that the massive financial pull these companies have will be used on making each of these squads into superteams if they can. Rather than the company imposing their business model on their teams, it is far more likely the sports competition will bring out their each brand's competitive fire. Look for these squads, especially Microsoft and Apple, to spend major money on attracting the biggest and best stars in building their squads. Player development dollars will be well spent, but these financial powers likely will make even the monetary war chests of Manchester United and Real Madrid look almost puny in comparison.
