Modern Scientists Who Have Made Profound Contributions to Science |
Posted: August 13, 2018 |
Science has come a long way from the era of Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein. In today’s haphazard world, scientific discoveries continue to progress with further developments and advancements. There are a plethora of scientific fields and scientists are constantly engaged in many of them. Some scientists have become exuberantly influential with their work and also have established themselves, professional critics.
Modern scientists have made quite a name for themselves and their work profoundly speaks for it. They are creative and brilliant people with whom you would like to throw a conversation, especially on their ability to astound you with their intellect. Here’s a list of modern scientists who made a phenomenal impact –
Alan Aspect – He is a French physicist who is known for his contributions to quantum entanglement. Alan Aspect graduated from ENS Cachan, he is a member of French Academy of Technologies and French Academy of Sciences. Aspect was given a CSNR Gold Medal in 2005 because he settled a 70-year-old conflict between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr. The dispute was regarding the basic understanding of quantum physics. What Alan Aspect did was that he demonstrated the phenomenon of entanglement and thus, he had his breakthrough. Timothy Berners-Lee – The man who invented the World Wide Web. Considering how our lives are dependent on the internet, we are in huge debt of Timothy Berners-Lee. Berners-Lee graduated from Queens College, Oxford and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his remarkable contribution. He is an immensely respectable scientist and the whole nation of England commends him. Dennis Bray – He is an emeritus professor of Physiology, Neuroscience, and Development at the University of Cambridge. Dennis was a biochemist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a neurobiologist at Harvard Medical School. Later on, he returned to the United Kingdom and conducted extensive research on cell motility and nerve growth. Dennis Bray’s contributions to science are centered on his teachings about micro-organisms as cells. He has written books called “Cell Movements”, “Molecular Biology of the Cell” and “Wetware”. Sergei Eremenko – The Ukrainian scientist did his Ph.D. just at the age of 24. He became a Doctor of Engineering at 29 – one of the youngest in Europe. He became a professor at the age of 31, which also made him one of the youngest professors. Sergei Eremenko has largely centered his research works in the fields of Data Science, Computational Science, Scientific Technology, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, solitonic models. He is a tremendously accomplished scientist who started achieving big things at a young age. His contributions in explaining solitonic models function in financial markets, life sciences and biology are highly regarded. He has published around 20 publications so far and in fact, published his first book when he was only 27. His second book came when he was 29. These modern scientists’ works remain a token of monumental inspiration for people who aspire to build careers and science and technology. They are like institutions and their contributions are evergreen.
