DON'T LEAVE CASINOS WITH MORE THAN WINNING |

Germs Abound in Land-Based Casinos When you first walk onto a casino floor, the neatly swept floors, tidy gaming tables and glittering lights on slot machines all seem great. But the seedy side of gaming hides the germs that lurk within -- and could make you very ill. Casinos typically are busy places, and being open around the clock makes it difficult to thoroughly clean and sanitize all public areas. Add in the fact most also allow smoking, and you have a breeding ground for all kinds of germs that can make you sick or worse. Bacteria in the casino gaming area get on virtually everything -- especially items and surfaces commonly touched by other players. Combine the proliferation of chain smokers gambling inside casinos, and you have a breeding ground for all kinds of harmful germs, bacteria and other contagions. Sneezing and coughing will spread germs over a wide area -- even when covering mouths with hands. Those hands might stop some of the contagions released while coughing or sneezing, but almost no gamblers take the time to sanitize their hands immediately afterward. Unfortunately, whatever those hands touch will become breeding grounds for the bacteria and germs gamblers touch.
Toilet Seats Are More Sanitary Than Gaming Areas It might sound crazy at first, but the toilet seats in many casinos are more sanitary than most gaming areas. That's because casino bathrooms are sanitized more often than the gaming areas, and most people use paper covers while using casino restrooms. Unfortunately, those same people tend to not wash well when done, and forego the recommended 30 seconds of washing before heading back to the gaming tables. Once they return, they touch the same dice, poker chips, cards and other gaming surfaces that you and others eventually will touch, Even if you aren't gambling, you still have to use the same doors, seats and tables used by other gamblers who are sick or carrying germs that can make you sick. Slot machines are especially notorious for spreading harmful germs. Many people will sit and try the same slot machine throughout the day, and those machines rarely get sanitized properly. Yet, when you sit at one, you are touching the same slot handle and buttons that others have touched. If just one of the many people who preceded you at the slot machine were sick, you easily could wind up catching the cold, flu or worse. Thankfully, online gambling takes the bacteria out of your gaming experience, but leaves you with the same opportunity to win cash. Short of carrying your own sanitizer, the best way to stay healthy while gambling is to do it online.
