Barrio Queen’s third Valley restaurant is now open at Desert Ridge Marketplace at Loop 101 and Tatum Boulevard.
The Queen’s original seat of power opened in 2011 in Old Town Scottsdale. Her second dominion began in 2015 at Heritage Marketplace in downtown Gilbert.
The Phoenix reign will be much like that in Scottsdale and Gilbert. Diners can expect tableside guacamole, an impressive variety of tacos and plenty of margaritas. The experience happens in a stylized indoor/outdoor dining area that’s decorated with artwork from Arizonan and Mexican artists.
Steve Rosenfield and Linda Nash operate Barrio Queen. The couple were founding partners of Barrio Queen and have been sole owners since chef Silvana Salcido Esparza (Barrio Cafe, Barrio Cafe Gran Reserva) parted ways with the brand in 2014.
The Queen has plans to expand her kingdom with additional restaurants in the coming year or so. Look for new locations to open in downtown Phoenix and near Tempe Town Lake. The Queen is also eyeing her the first out-of-state restaurants in Dallas and Denver.
