The first and probably hardest step of writing a research paper for school is to find a good topic to write about. If you don’t have a good topic, you are destined to struggle writing your paper. A good topic will be easy to write about and it will lead to a better paper overall. So where do you find good topics for research papers.
Find good topics for research papers:
Look through your textbook. Check the table of contents to see the main topics that are discussed. This is a good place to start. You can also look through the index and choose a topic from there. Check out current events. You can look up recent news articles from all over the world. Current events are great for a lot of classes. Check out a science magazine for topics in science to write about. Look on the internet for topics to write your research paper on or order research paper. You can search for topics by the class you’re in. The idea behind finding a good topic is that you find one that is narrow enough that you are not overwhelmed with information and one that is broad enough to have enough information to complete the word or page requirement. If you have to write a long paper, you would want to make sure that you have enough content to talk about.
Here are some tips to determing what topic to write about:
Write down a bunch of possible topics. Choose ones that catch your attention and ones that you are passionate about. Start writing general thesis statements for each to see if you can come up with a great thesis statement to write about. Your thesis statement will be the most important part of your paper. Make sure that you can write at least three sub topics or supporting details for each source. If you can’t support your thesis or break the topic down into three parts to discuss, choose another topic. Create an outline for the topic that is number one on your list. IF you can’t come up with a complete outline and strong thesis, choose another topic. I hope that these tips help you find a good topic for your research paper. Just remember to find a topic that you are interested in to make it a lot easier.
