Be it business or home, security is crucial. Thanks to the advanced security system with which we can protect our assets. Luckily video surveillance systems in Kansas City are more effective than ever. Now some of the best cameras offer motion sensors, hi-grade functions & features and automatic mobile notifications. Some even let us automatically contact law enforcement at once when needed. However, there is a broad range of video surveillance systems available which makes it difficult to choose the right one. So, here is a buying guide. IP cameras vs. analog camerasThere are two major types of cameras which can be wired into a video surveillance system – 1. IP, i.e. internet protocol cameras and 2. Analog cameras. IP cameras are a modern version of analog cameras. Individual’s cameras are more expensive, but they offer many features that do not come in analog cameras. What to look while choosing cameras?Resolution – It is one of the most important factors to consider before picking up a camera. For a sharper image, choose at least 720p high definition IP cameral. It will guarantee a clear image. Frame rate – It is another feature to consider. Higher the frame rate, smoother is the video. Similarly, lower the frame rate, the less frequently a still image is taken. A lower frame rate gives poor footage. A real-time is typically measured as 30 frames per second. Models – Bullet cameras are common cameras which you must have seen protruding from a wall in rectangular boxes. Dome cameras are often attached to a ceiling; it usually comes with remote-control capabilities to adjust the vision. The choice of a model entirely depends on your security needs. Indoor vs. outdoor – Some security cameras specially designed for indoors and won’t stand for the tough weather conditions. However, if you plan to use an outdoor camera, you must purchase a weatherproof design. Otherwise, dirt, heat and cold may interfere the quality of the video. Lighting – Many advanced security cameras are designed to able to shoot in low-light conditions. It enables them to capture clear footage even in darker conditions and low-light. Such cameras depend on infrared LED lights. The more IR LEDs a camera has, the better has its ability to visualize at night. If capturing footage in dark conditions is required for your security needs, purchase a camera with sufficient IR LEDs. These are some of the important features you must not overlook while purchasing a security camera.
