Volkswagen was first founded on the 28th of May 1937 in Berlin, Germany, to manufacture the car which is now known as the Beetle. With the growth and development in all these years, the German auto manufacturer is now known as the Volkswagen Group internationally. As of now, the Volkswagen Group caters famous car brands such as Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti and SEAT. In addition to this, under the Volkswagen tree, we also see other automotive brands such as the Ducati, MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Overall, the Volkswagen Group has over 100 different production facilities scattered over 27 countries all over.
Hyundai Motor Company which is also known as Hyundai Motors globally was founded by Chung Ju-yung on the 29th of December 1967 in South Korea. Altogether Hyundai Motors is part of the Hyundai Motor Group which also includes Kia Motors and luxury car brand Genesis Motors. Kia Motors was formerly known as Kyungsung Precision Industry when it was founded back in the year 1944. At that time, it used to manufacture steel tubing and bicycle parts and hence in the year 1951 it manufactured Korea's first domestic bicycle known as the Samchully. Hyundai Motors has its presence in many of the leading countries all over the world such USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama and Dominican Republic, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Philippines, Turkey, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, South Africa, Egypt, Libya, Australia and New Zealand. Thus making it the third largest automotive manufacturer in the world.
Honda Motor Company Limited is one of Japan’s most successful public MNC’s and it is primarily known all over the world for its Automobiles (Car and Bikes) and Power Equipment. Since the year 1959, Honda is has become the largest manufacturer of motorcycles and in addition to this, it is also one of the world’s largest producer of internal combustion engines. It is estimated that Honda manufactures 14 million IC engines every year. In the year 2001, Honda also became the second largest manufacturer of Japanese cars. As per the survey in 2015, this Japanese automotive manufacturer is the eight largest producers of automobiles in the world. In the year 1986, Honda became the first ever automotive manufacturer from Japan to release its own luxury brand which is known as Acura.
This Alliance was previously known as the Renault Nissan Alliance which is a French-Japanese strategic partnership between France based automotive manufacturer Renault along with Japanese based car producer Nissan. Back in September 2017, Nissan acquired Mitsubishi and it now becomes equal partners in this alliance, hence it is now known as the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. As of now, this alliance controls ten of the major leading brands in the world such as Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Infiniti, Dacia, Alpine, Datsun, Venucia, Lada and Renault Samsung. According to the survey done in 2017, this car group sold 10.6 million vehicles all over the world which made it one of the top leading light vehicle manufacturers in the world.
Previously, Tata Motors was known as TELCO and it is a subsidiary of the Tata Group. Tata Motors are not only in the manufacturing of light vehicles but they also have their presence in production of trucks, vans, coaches, buses, sports cars, military vehicles, automotive parts and construction equipment. Back in the year 2008, Tata Motors purchased the luxury English car band Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. Likewise, they have also purchased the South Korean commercial vehicles manufacturer Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Company in the year 2004. Along with a joint venture with Hitachi, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery produces construction equipment. In addition to this, Tata Motors also has a joint venture with Fiat Chrysler that together manufactures automotive parts and components.
